About Performance Studios
Performance Studios has been a Fergus music school for over 25 years. Director Karen Aitken and her dedicated teachers have brought the joy and benefits of music to many children and adults.
We are a music studio for more than instrumental lessons. Our students grow with the knowledge of music, feeling of friendship, one on one teacher help whether in a class setting or in private lessons, and fun learning! With many teachers there is most certainly a spot in the schedule to for you or your child(ren).
We offer private lessons in violin, piano, keyboard, voice, guitar, ukulele, mandolin, drums, bass, recorder, and theory.
We also offer music programs such as Kindermusik, Music For Young Children, Keyfest and Bell Choirs (adult or children classes)
A year's worth of learning and work does not go unnoticed either. Throughout the year there are many opportunities to showcase our students' talent to their parents and the public, especially with the year-end Performance Studios Concert.
August 2015 marked the 35th MYC Anniversary with a conference. Southern Ontario MYC colleagues were awarded a prize for the Region with the most number of conference registrants. Those funds were used to enhance the growth of MYC across Southern Ontario Region. Karen Aitken was also the lucky draw winner of a brand new Roland digital piano!

My vision to have a music school that made a difference in the lives of everyone of any age began over 25 years ago! GROWING WITH MUSIC- helps concentration, confidence, co-ordination, memory and learning. I am a graduate of the prestigious Humber College music program and the Royal Conservatory Of Music. After Humber, I joined as educational representative of Roland Canada Music and subsequently became a partner of an entertainment consultant company in Toronto. I have obtained Music For Young Children certificates for all levels and completed requirements to teach Kindermusik along with ongoing professional development. Throughout many years of teaching, as a director for a Mississauga music school and a member of the Humber College Children's music school faculty, I have gained considerable insights into all aspects of music education. I am proud to have been a longtime member of the Not So Grand Players: a musical theatre non profit group which has donated 80,000 back to the community. As a musician I have performed at various functions from weddings to funerals to daycares. After all this time I still enjoy spreading the magic of music to my students and parents, and to watch my students GROWING WITH MUSIC!
